PARKatlanta is a collaborative initiative led by the City's Department of Public Works that is modernizing the City's parking operations to improve convenience, access, fairness, and service for City motorists, residents, businesses, and visitors.

In accordance with the recommendations of the Atlanta City Council Transportation Sub-Committee for Parking Enforcement, the Department of Public Works is enhancing the service levels for the PARKatlanta On-street Parking Management Program.

In an effort to facilitate the efficient operation of metered parking to the benefits of residents, business owners and visitors, the Atlanta City Council agreed by a vote of 10-0 to increase the time limits of metered parking in certain areas and to eliminate overnight parking restrictions in certain metered parking areas altogether. Booting and towing have resumed. A vehicle may be subject to booting or towing if illegally parked (i.e. tow zone, handicap zone, fire hydrant) or if there are 3 or more delinquent parking citations.
