How to Contest a Citation
Dispute Form
Dispute forms are available at Municipal Court of Atlanta at 150 Garnett Street or online. Click here to download. Appeals must be initiated with the Court within 14 days of violation issuance.
Enforcement Investigation
PARKatlanta has instituted an internal Enforcement Investigation Program designed to facilitate expeditious dismissals of citations issued in error. By requesting this service and completing the form on the next page, PARKatlanta will perform an internal investigation and make a recommendation to the City to either uphold or dismiss the citation. The final decision will lie exclusively with City representatives.
This investigation process does not replace or affect the City's citation dispute process; citations that are upheld in the PARKatlanta investigation process may still be disputed through the Municipal Court of Atlanta following this process.
Once an Enforcement Investigation is started, the citation in question will be suspended to prevent further notices and late fees being assessed during the investigation. Following the investigation, PARKatlanta will provide a written update reflecting the City’s findings, possibly including the summary dismissal of the relevant citation.
If you are not satisfied with the result of our findings you may dispute the citation to the Municipal Court of the City of Atlanta at www.atlantaga.gov.

How to Avoid Getting a Citation
Quick tips...
- Pay the parking meter as soon as you park.
- Observe posted parking signs (both in front of and behind your vehicle). Don't park longer than the posted time limit.
- Obey the "NO PARKING" signs. Remember, restrictions vary by time and day.
- Make sure your watch is in sync with the time on the parking meter.
Do Not Park...
- Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, 20 feet of a crosswalk, or 30 feet of a stop sign,
- In any manner that obstructs the free use of the street,
- Blocking a driveway,
- On a sidewalk,
- Against the flow of traffic,
- In intersections, bus stops, or on a bridge.
